On the return flight I took some notes on what I could do better for GoneNomad part deux.

Having access to your money while traveling is kind of important. On my last trip I took out all the cash I would need before I left. But that was a week-long trip and this time around that's not really an option. Make sure you can get a hold of cash when you need it!

Depending on where you're traveling, you might need to get vaccines from diseases like Typhoid Fever. I visited a travel medicine clinic today to receive some injections and was also directed to a great resource for travelers who want to stay healthy on their trip. And who doesn't?

After seeing videos and reading news of the unrest in Tibet it's not hard to imagine that traveling there could be risky. But even your typical "safe" country harbours all kinds of dangers. Hepatitis could be hiding in those ice cubes sitting in your drink, you could be attacked by a scorpion, or you could get trapped in a local clash. Could be. And that's what the travel agent I spoke to on Saturday wanted me to be thinking about when she explained the travel insurance coverage. Medical fees, dental fees, medical evacuation, bedside visits, even dealing with my remains, should it come to that.
