Bus Stops

01/07/2009 - 17:25

The bus stop near my house isn't terribly far from the SkyTrain station I'm normally bound for. Ten, fifteen minutes' stroll will do it.

I used to stand at the stop waiting for the bus, thinking, "should I stay or should I go?" The choice to walk would nag at me until, usually, I'd ditch the bus and go for it.

Get Comfortable or Go Nomad?

09/19/2008 - 09:55

I've been home in Vancouver for over a month now and I've spent the last couple weeks wrestling with the big decision: do I go back?

For the Love of España

08/31/2008 - 07:14

After meeting so many great people from Spain, I'm really looking forward to visiting there. For some reason I've got myself a strong interest in the language and music.

Back in Vancouver

08/12/2008 - 00:00

Quick update and some thoughts on being back in Vancouver after two months on the run in Europe.

Turnaround on Santorini Island

08/09/2008 - 23:45

Originally planned to be a six-day excursion, I didn't even make it to 24 hours before catching a flight back to Athens.

Things You Notice Living in the United Kingdom

08/05/2008 - 01:37

Today's my last day in the British Isles—or IONA, if you prefer—as I leave early tomorrow morning for Greece. I've lived in Vancouver most of my life and being in another country brings about a lot of change. These are some of the day-to-day differences I've noticed during my time in U.K./Ireland.

Travel Stories: Meeting Alan

07/30/2008 - 23:00
"...I think of this trip sort of like sending the boy out into the jungle on his own..."

I found that note in one of several text files I have floating around in folders long forgotten. It was from February when GoneNomad was definitely a "go."

Now, having been on the road for near two months I've got a few (somewhat) sketchy situations to add to my mental canvas. I've been completely lost a few times, having to rely on the sun (or the moon), a stranger, or a storefront "we have moved!" sign to find my way.

But those aren't the fun stories.

A Week in London (So Far)

07/29/2008 - 01:03

Phew I've been in London for over a week and finally an update.

Off to London

07/20/2008 - 17:45

Thanks to Alan, my stay in Cork has been bloody savage (yes, a good thing). I definitely got a unique perspective of the area and London's got tough act to follow.

To Galway!

07/09/2008 - 01:29

I can't believe my time in Edinburgh is already up. The past three-and-a-half weeks have been brilliant. I've done a fair amount of touristy things, gotten to know the city a bit, and met a lot of great people (let me know when you're in Vancouver!).

Tonight I'm off to Galway, Ireland in search of new adventure!
